A Message From Stu
So this is a post I never thought I’d have to write. First up, the happy news. In October this year (so long as everything goes to plan) I’ll be welcoming my first born child into the world. It’s one of the best things that has ever happened to me and I couldn’t be happier.

Now for the sad bit…unfortunately this means I can’t commit the same amount of time to the band that the others would like to. This has not been an easy decision. My life has taken a different path and it just doesn’t seem right for me to hold back the rest of the band.

I hope that we’ll be able to record some of the songs we have already been playing live and do some sort of release soon. That being said, plans will continue for the band to go on and record an album with possibly the best replacement I could imagine. Many of you will already know Henry Tremain from ‘Pennines’. We have all been long time fans and were all delighted when he said he would pick up the mantle and help TTNG carry on. He is a fantastic musician and all-round great dude. His inclusion in TTNG can only help improve their sound.
 

I would dearly love to play a few more shows with the band and would forever regret it if the opportunity didn’t arise where I could play at least once more, but we’ll have to wait and see how things work out. Like a plaster it might be better to be ripped off quickly rather than prolong the agony  I’ll just have to keep my fingers crossed.

This band has been a huge part of my life for the last 10 years and I’ve loved (almost) every second. I feel confident that the years I’ve spent in the band will stand out as some of the best in my life. I can’t believe I’ve been privileged enough to play gigs all over the world; America, Canada, Australia, Japan, the UK and most of Europe.

I feel really proud to have played with the other guys in the band and through the years I’ve been pretty vocal about what great musicians I think they all are. We’ve always stuck to our principles and been fairly uncompromising about writing music we liked whether it was popular or not. It didn’t please everyone, but that has never been the point. I hope they continue in the same vein and write music that delights them. Hopefully you’ll like it too.

Not sure what I’ll be doing, but hopefully it won’t be too long before I start something else up.

Lastly, I just want to say a massive thanks to Tim, Chris, Jamie, Dan, Matt and Jody. Thanks to my family and amazing wife for their support. Thanks to Kev (BSM), Cathy, Marc, Chase and Brittanie (Sargent House), Kotaro and Kono (Zankyo), TJ (Yellow Ghost), Fumi (Rallye), Jason (13 Artists) and Isla. Without them you probably would never have hear us. Thank you to anyone who ever came to a gig, bought a record, t-shirt or tab book. Thank you to anyone whoever sent a message of support to us, or just dropped a line to say thank you. It means a lot to us all. I hope you continue to follow the guys and enjoy it as much as you ever have.
